Oʻahu Map Explorer

The Oʻahu Resource Conservation and Development Council (ORCD) in collaboration with the City and County of Honolulu’s Office of Economic Revitalization (CCH-OER) present practical strategies for the agricultural and forestry sectors to adapt to climate change and extreme events (droughts, floods, or storms).

We’ve developed the “Oahu’s Map Explorer” to fulfill a part of our shared mission. This interactive map allows users to draw an area of interest within Hawaii and its various counties, and quickly obtain a summary of environmental characteristics, climatic scenarios, and more.

This tool aims to assist:

In summary, the “Oahu’s Map Explorer” is a comprehensive web application designed to:

• Understand climatic scenarios and develop adaptation practices.
• Plan crops by identifying water availability, soil characteristics, terrain slope, and more.
• Recognize potential risks such as landslides and flooding specific to the Hawaii region.
